Business Assistant / Dental Insurance Coordinator

Dr. Maggie Davis & Associates – Palm Harbor, FL

Full-Time | Monday-Thursday | Fridays Until 2 PM | No Weekends

Dr. Maggie Davis & Associates is a well-established, privately owned pediatric dental practice dedicated to providing exceptional care and creating an outstanding experience for every patient and family we serve.

We are seeking an experienced Dental Insurance Coordinator who is detail-oriented, organized, and enjoys working as part of a supportive team. This position is primarily responsible for insurance coordination while also assisting the front office as needed to ensure a positive and seamless patient experience.

Responsibilities

Insurance Coordination

  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Review and explain coverage and treatment estimates with patients and families
  • Submit and track insurance claims
  • Follow up on outstanding claims and aging reports
  • Process claim attachments and narratives
  • Communicate with insurance companies regarding claims and benefits
  • Maintain accurate insurance information and patient records

Front Office Support

  • Answer incoming phone calls professionally and courteously
  • Schedule and confirm appointments
  • Check patients in and out
  • Collect payments and review account balances
  • Assist with recall efforts and patient communication
  • Help maintain an efficient schedule and patient flow

Team Support

  • Work collaboratively with doctors and team members
  • Assist fellow business assistants when needed
  • Support the clinical team to help create an exceptional patient experience
  • Participate in morning huddles and team meetings
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude

Qualifications

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of dental front office and/or insurance experience
  • Experience with pediatric dentistry and/or general dentistry preferred
  • Knowledge of PPO insurance plans, claim submission, and insurance verification
  • Experience with dental software systems preferred

Schedule

Monday-Thursday: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Friday: 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Full-time position averaging approximately 36-40 hours per week. Team members are not expected to work the entire hours of operation.
