Position Title: Dental Business Assistant
Location: Broadway Dental Care, Merrillville, IN
Employment Type: [Full-time / Part-time]

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and friendly Dental Business Assistant to join our front office team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with dental insurance, patient scheduling, and Dentrix software, and will play a key role in creating a smooth and positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage front desk operations with professionalism
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments using Dentrix
• Perform dental insurance verification and breakdown of benefits prior to appointments
• Submit insurance claims and assist with claim follow-ups as needed
• Explain treatment plans, estimated costs, and insurance coverage to patients
• Maintain accurate patient records and update information in Dentrix
• Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and manage daily communications
• Coordinate patient flow between front and back office
• Collect payments, process billing, and handle financial arrangements
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and office policies

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience with dental insurance verification and claims processing required
• Proficiency with Dentrix software required
• Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of dental front office or business assistant experience
• Experience in a fast-paced or multi-provider practice
• Knowledge of treatment planning and case presentation
