Orthodontic Assistant (DA or RDA)
Orthodontic Office | 3 Days/Week | $20–$25/hr + Benefits
San Diego, CA (Carlsbad)

One of our wonderful assistants is relocating, and we’re excited to welcome a new Orthodontic Assistant to our team! We’re a modern, high-tech orthodontic practice in Carlsbad with an amazing staff and supportive leadership.

Schedule: 3 days per week, rotating Mon–Wed or Tue–Thu (8 AM–5 PM)

What You’ll Do

• Ensure all orthodontic instruments and equipment are properly sterilized before each use
• Take CBCT scans (no intraoral x-rays)
• Take digital photographs of patients’ teeth for treatment planning and progress tracking
• Use intraoral scanners and 3D printing for customized retainers and mouth guards (no traditional molds)
• Assist the doctor with placing braces
• Remove and replace wires, coil springs, donuts, and elastic bands
• Prepare and maintain treatment rooms and manage lab cases
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and braces aftercare
• Provide excellent chairside support and patient comfort

What We’re Looking For

• X-ray certification required
• Orthodontic, general, or specialty dental assisting experience preferred (willing to train the right candidate)
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
• CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
