We are seeking a motivated and team-oriented Orthodontic Assistant/Dental Assistant to join our growing practice and help support the continued expansion of our orthodontic services.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their day, thrives in a collaborative environment, and wants to play an important role in building and growing an orthodontic department within a well-established pediatric dental practice.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide chairside orthodontic assisting support during scheduled orthodontic clinic days
  • Work closely with our orthodontist to maintain an efficient and organized clinical flow
  • Assist with orthodontic procedures including records, digital scans, appliance placement, adjustments, patient education, and treatment visits
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, supplies, and materials for orthodontic appointments
  • Assist with patient communication and creating a positive orthodontic experience
  • Support our clinical team with pediatric dental assisting responsibilities as needed
  • Travel between our Leavenworth and Kansas City locations as scheduled
  • Assist with the continued growth and development of our orthodontic department
  • Maintain a positive, flexible, team-focused attitude while adapting to the needs of the practice

Schedule

We are open to discussing a schedule based on the candidate's availability and experience. Options may include:

  • A part-time orthodontic-focused position, or
  • A full-time position combining orthodontic assisting and dental assisting responsibilities

This role offers the opportunity to be a key member of a growing orthodontic program while remaining actively involved in our pediatric dental practice. Orthodontic clinic schedules and responsibilities may evolve as the department continues to expand.

Qualifications

  • Previous orthodontic assisting experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with orthodontic workflow, records, digital scanning, and patient education preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
  • Positive attitude and commitment to excellent patient care
  • Comfortable working in a growing practice environment
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between locations as needed
  • Flexibility and adaptability to support the needs of a growing department
